“You won’t understand my suffering if you have entire legs,” sobs a woman who can’t afford a N3.5 million prosthetic limb.

A young Nigerian woman breaks down in tears because she can’t afford her ideal prosthetic leg, which would cost an incredible N3.5 million.

A woman’s heartbreaking reflection on her amazement at learning the expense of an artificial leg was captured in a video that has stirred up a lot of emotions.

The woman says she has always wanted to treat herself to a prosthetic leg so she could walk more easily and not have to suffer from the discomfort of crutches.

She underlined how she had made a pledge to herself to smile during the year, but her feelings were stirred by the shock of learning how much the leg would cost.

“Today, I learned that the prosthetic leg I’ve always desired would cost N3.5 million. You won’t be able to relate to my suffering if you have your entire leg. I lost my leg, so I’m not even able to move. I damaged my armpit using crutches, which is how I can only walk. She wrote in the video’s title, “I know I promised not to cry this year, but here I found myself again.”

Since then, the post has sparked a tsunami of responses from other people who identified with her suffering and wanted to offer whatever small assistance they could.
