Yemi Alade, a Nigerian Afrobeats musician, responds to a fan who makes similarities between her and fellow music icon Tiwa Savage, saying she’s superior to her.
It is noteworthy that two of Nigeria’s most well-known female music performers are Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage. There have been rumors of a rivalry, at least between their fan bases, notwithstanding their triumphs.

In response, Yemi Alade appeared to downplay any idea of a sour rivalry when she warned a passionate supporter on platform X (previously Twitter) not to disparage her Nigerian competitor.
The situation started when the self-described Mama Africa posted a video clip with the tagline, “Africa, our time is NOW!!” She was supposed to play at the opening ceremony of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.

“U better than tiwa,” a fan with the handle @ThatNigerianlad wrote in response to Tiwa Savage in a scathing comment on the post.
The X user’s comment was quickly disregarded by Yemi Alade, who declared, “Comparison is the thief of Joy.” We’re both winning, therefore rejoice and help each other out.

Excellent write-up
