VeryDarkMan has called for the arrest of Raheem Okoya for naira abuse, stating that no one is above the law.
In a six-minute video circulating on the social networking platform X (previously Twitter), he replied to a viral video showing Raheem Okoya, the son of Nigerian millionaire Rasaq Okoya, reportedly disrespecting the naira while a police officer looked on.
Raheem Okoya has not yet been charged with any crimes related to the naira abuse, but the police officer in the video has apparently been placed under custody.
In the video, VeryDarkMan expressed his worries and emphasized that everyone should be treated equally under the law, regardless of socioeconomic standing.
He emphasized that although Raheem Okoya was obviously implicated in the crime, he has not been held accountable, whereas the police officer who was involved in the incident has been detained.
Although Okoya had apologized for his behavior, VeryDarkMan maintained that ignorance of the law is not a valid defense.
Even though he apologized for the event, he brought attention to his own recent arrest for donning a police outfit.
VeryDarkMan further underlined that Raheem Okoya should be subject to the law if it is applied to those like Bobrisky and Cubana Chief Priest for misusing naira.
“In Nigeria, the law applies to everyone, regardless of wealth,” he said.
“This video trended yesterday, showing a wealthy man’s son, Raheem Okoya, bribing a police officer,” VeryDarkMan said in his statement. After the video went viral, they started disfiguring the naira.
“First of all, there is no ignorance in the law,” he added. Second, the policeman who committed this crime cooperated because he was paid more than his wage.
“The rich man’s son was unaffected, but the police officer was taken into custody. Even though they made him apologize, it is insufficient. The wealthy are not subject to different laws. The rich should be subject to the law if it is for the poor.
Many worried people expressed their opinions in the comment area when the video went viral online.
