After Kylian Mbappé’s early exit from Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Atalanta, manager Carlo Ancelotti has given an update on the forward’s health.
Even though Madrid prevailed 3-2, star striker Mbappe took a knock during the Tuesday night play.
The Frenchman appeared to battle with a hamstring injury and was replaced in the first half.
After the game, Ancelotti played down concerns about a major injury.
Ancelotti clarified, “He has an overload, a hamstring ache.” He couldn’t run, so he had to halt, although it doesn’t seem serious. It caused him some discomfort.
Therefore, we chose to remove him. We’ll evaluate in the next days.
Real Madrid put on a strong show to win the Champions League for the third time this season in spite of the loss.
