The Banner for Mr. Ibu’s Funeral Arrangements Surfaces Online.

The online community has discovered the funeral banner of the late legendary actor, John Ikechukwu Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu.

Mr. Ibu gained widespread recognition for his unique style of comedy and his ability to bring laughter to audiences across Africa and beyond.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ibu has appeared in numerous Nollywood films, earning a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most beloved comedians. His performances are characterized by his exaggerated facial expressions, slapstick humor, and comedic timing, which have endeared him to fans of Nigerian cinema.

Mr. Ibu’s contributions to the Nigerian film industry have been significant, as he has played a pivotal role in popularizing Nollywood both domestically and internationally. His comedic talent and larger-than-life personality have helped to showcase the richness and diversity of Nigerian culture through film.

The late actor lost one of his legs and suffered a protracted health battle before passing away on March 2, 2024. His age was 63

A family statement on April 13 said that Mr. Ibu’s remains will be buried at Amuri, where he was born, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The historic march between Nollywood and Rangers International is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Mr. Ibu’s Candlelight Procession is scheduled for the next day.

A Christian wake ceremony is scheduled for June 27 at Eziokwe Amuri in Enugu State. His remains would be transferred from the Eastern Nigerian Medical Center to his birthplace the next day in order to be buried.
