Special Spesh, the hype man for Afrobeat musician Davido, responded to the Grammy Awards results following the artist’s elimination from all three categories.
Reactions to Afrobeat musician Davido’s loss in all three categories at last night’s Grammy Awards have been divided.
Davido has three nominations this year: Best African Performance for his song “Unavailable,” Best Global Music Performance for his song “Feel,” and Best Global Album for his most recent album, “Timeless.”
But Davido was defeated in all three categories.
Special Spesh, the hype man, has moved to his page to criticize Grammy in response to the results. He asserts that white people attempt to seize control of anything they perceive to be successful, including the Afrobeat genre.
He went on to say that they would not let the Grammy denigrate Afrobeats or anything from Africa, and they would not be deterred by the outcome.
