Rumors are sparked by VeryDarkMan’s purported Mercedes purchase, which involves ₦180 million missing from an NGO website.

Due to allegations that ₦180 million was embezzled from a ₦200 million NGO fund, speculation has been circulating on social media about VeryDarkMan’s purported purchase of a Mercedes Benz AMG for several million naira.

This was brought to light via a post that someone on the well-known website X (previously Twitter) published.

Following allegations that VeryDarkMan had lost ₦180 million due to a hack of his non-profit website, the post was made.

The influencer was skeptical, claiming that VeryDarkMan had bought a Mercedes Benz AMG shortly after learning of the purported crime.

According to the influencer’s statement, “VeryDarkMan claimed that ₦180 million was lost as a result of his NGO website being compromised.” He reportedly purchased a Mercedes-Benz AMG today. My query is: Was the money on the website or was it in a bank account created for the NGO? Kindly explain as if we were in elementary school.

He also urged VeryDarkMan to provide information on the money’s location, including whether it was on the website or in the NGO’s bank account.

As soon as the post became viral, worried people flocked to the comment area to share their opinions.

Reaction from netizens….

@Engr_Ashile: “Money can make anybody do whatever they preach against.”

@buzzedison: “What I have been wondering. The money cannot be sitting on a website.”

@Ashabul_Jannaah: “If I speak my mind now, they’ll say it’s because I don’t like him. But honestly, 160 million missing and a Benz showing up? Even primary 2 pupils would ask for an explanation. Transparency isn’t too much to ask.”

@VivaDido: “They can’t hack his bank account through his website. Websites do not hold money, but can only be used to set a payment gateway. For money to be stolen, it has to be directly with the bank and the information for such would only be with the acct holder, not in the website.”

@kattiekitchens: “Me seff I need to sit down to be taught.”
