Police in Rivers apprehend suspects and rescue four kids from a trafficking operation.

Four children were saved from a trafficking organization in the Rumukwachi Community, which is close to Port Harcourt, by the Rivers State Police Command.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Commands, revealed this in a statement released Monday in Port Harcourt.

“The Command disrupted the child trafficking syndicate and detained a suspect, Esther Anthony, who was accused of being an accomplice,” she said.

Iringe-Koko observed that prior to the prompt police intervention, the youngsters, who ranged in age from one to thirteen, were staying in a guest house, prepared for trafficking.

The children, who range in age from one to thirteen, were housed in the Alaeze Guest House in Rumukwachi, Port Harcourt, and were supposed to be given to a nurse named Loveth, who manages a maternity home, according to the statement.

After growing suspicious of Esther Anthony’s actions, the guest house’s managing director forbade her from checking out with the kids, stating that the mother had to be there instead.

“Esther Anthony colluded with a person named Favour to smuggle the children from the Swali Community in Bayelsa State, according to preliminary investigations.”

Every suspect in the case has been taken into custody and will soon face charges.
