The brother of France player Paul Pogba, Mathias Pogba, was found guilty of extortion and given a three-year prison sentence.
A Paris court sentenced him on Thursday and imposed a two-year suspension.
Instead of going to jail, Mathias Pogba will be able to wear an electronic bracelet for the duration of his one-year sentence.
Additionally, Pogba’s brother was fined 20,000 euros by the court for his involvement in the 2022 attempt to extort 13 million euros ($13.5 million) from Pogba and for pressuring the player, his family, and his business associates to get the money.
