Nigerian lawyer Ayokunle Odekunle, who practices in Canada, succumbs to cancer.

Social media users are in mourning as well-known Nigerian lawyer Ayokunle Odekunle, who was residing in Canada, passes away from stage 4 cancer.

The lawyer was well-known for his expert advice on the microblogging site X, where the news of his passing was revealed.

“It is with profound sadness that I bring to you that our dear brother, friend, and colleague Ayokunle Odekunle, @oddy4real, lost his courageous battle with stage 4 cancer,” tweeted one X user, @KayceeMaduYEG, announcing his passing on Saturday.

Odekunle reportedly worked at Queck & Associates Law Office in Alberta, Canada, as a solicitor and barrister.

Odekunle received his legal degree from the University of Ibadan in Oyo State in 2011 and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar the same year. He got a call from the Alberta Bar in 2023.

Odekunle established himself as a skilled litigator while employed at Kenna Partners, the top commercial litigation company in Nigeria. He successfully represented numerous international companies in high-profile legal battles in Nigeria.

Ayokunle practiced law with a concentration on family law, immigration, wills and estates, and general litigation, among other topics.

Odekunle leaves behind his spouse and kids.
