A woman from Nigeria as @prideofapeacock has given an incredible tale of survival following her abduction by armed herdsmen while traveling from Abuja to Makurdi, Benue state.
The victim, whose true name is still unknown, described the harrowing event on Twitter (now X) and expressed thanks to be alive.
The adventure started when the armed men, posing as security guards at a checkpoint, violently stopped the car, according to the woman’s thorough testimony.
There was a sense of fear in the air as the passengers were forced out. They were led into the jungle by the six armed abductors, where they endured hours of walking, interrogation, and threats.
Targeting the woman in particular, the kidnappers asked about a ransom during the harrowing ordeal.
One of the armed guys tried to switch off her phone but was unable to do so, which was an unexpected turn of events despite the possible risk. She miraculously got her phone back.
Personal possessions were taken from the group and physical brutality was perpetrated while they were carried farther into the woods.
The woman was once in grave danger of dying, but she was able to avoid the worst-case situation when the kidnappers suddenly released her.
Singing tribal songs, the victims—including the woman—manoeuvred back toward the freeway, hoping that security personnel wouldn’t confuse them for adversaries.
The police had brought their car to the station, so when they got to the road, they were already waiting.
In spite of her injuries and the items she lost during the terrifying ordeal, the woman was incredibly appreciative of the intervention that saved her from the dangerous destiny that often befalls victims in Nigeria.
The woman talked about the goodness of God and how his faith in miracles has been enhanced as she gave her testimony in response to a tweet by Solomon Buchi.
