In Lagos, a doctor is charged with negligence that resulted in the death of a newborn.

A Lagos Island Maternity Hospital doctor has come under criticism for alleged misbehavior that allegedly led to a newborn baby’s untimely death.

The startling allegations were made by @ps_wears, a user on the social networking site X (previously Twitter), who described the experience in a post that has since gone viral.

The article claims that the accused doctor made an unacceptable demand of the expectant mother, which caused the birth process to be delayed.

She stated…

“LAGOS ISLAND MATERNITY HOSPITAL A doctor just told a pregnant woman to touch his private part. A woman who came to deliver a baby,”

“The baby died because the doctor delayed all because he wanted the lady to touch his private part. Now she’s undergoing CS. This is annoying I am pissed Hearing from her relatives the story here in the hospital is pissing me off,” she added.

She provided an update a few hours later, confirming that the baby had died and urging the police to look into the hospital and the doctor.

Many people are demanding urgent investigations and justice for the bereaved family in response to the upsetting tragedy, which has prompted fury online.

Yet, neither the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital nor the appropriate authorities have released an official statement. The purported misbehavior raises grave questions regarding patient rights protection and healthcare ethics.
