In Delta State, the Nigerian Army has rescued four victims and captured a criminal ring of kidnappers.

Major Emmanuel Onoja, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

The victims were saved from a hiding place in Ugbolu Forest, he said.

According to him, the military invaded the area based on reliable intelligence, engaged the kidnappers in a heavy-handed gunfight, and defeated the criminal group.

After being detained for many days, the victims were released and immediately provided medical care before being reunited with their family, the statement said.

On Monday, December 9, 2024, troops from the Nigerian Army’s 63 Brigade conducted a raid on a kidnapers’ hideout in Ugbolu Forest, Delta State, successfully rescuing four kidnap victims in a daring and decisive operation, according to the announcement.

According to reports, the abductors had been holding the victims hostage in the forest for a number of days and had demanded hefty ransom payments in order to free them. The crooks’ schemes were foiled by the military’ prompt and well-coordinated action, which also provided relief to the victims and their families.
