The seasoned Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, also referred to as Mama G, has talked candidly about her difficult path to entertainment business fame.
Funke Akindele discussed the sacrifices she made to support her family prior to her breakthrough during the pre-premiere dinner for her much awaited film, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
Mama G praised Funke Akindele for her perseverance and work ethic while sharing touching stories of her previous hardships.
“Funke Akindele is a very strong woman. I love strong women. I am a strong woman. I went through thick and thin to become who I am today. I used to go to the mortuary to dress dead bodies so my children could go to school and eat. I did a lot of things to make my family what they are today,” the veteran actress said.
Mama G said, “In my own place, they admire me a lot because they saw me through all these things,” reflecting on how her community acknowledged and valued her efforts.
Drawing comparisons between Funke and herself, she praised the filmmaker’s tenacity. “I look in the mirror when I see Funke. She is exactly like me,” Mama G continued.
