In a statement, David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer, said he was unaware of his family’s wealth until he was thirteen.
He talked about his father and his upbringing in an exclusive interview, saying, “All this stuff about being rich, my dad is incredibly disciplined.” He is clearly a very disciplined individual; he is quite distinct.
“I discovered we had money when I was 13 years old.” I’m telling you, my dad drove a Honda Accord and he was a billionaire.
Speaking again, he described how he came to learn about his father’s wealth: “Let me tell you how I found out. In the region where we resided in Nigeria, something occurred. A mistake occurred, similar to a bomb detonation, and numerous dwellings were damaged.
From the time I was born until I was around eleven years old, our first home was a large compound with a bungalow. We had to leave the house right away after that occurrence since it was so messy.
