Toyin Abraham’s extensive post after her latest film Malaika was pirated:

“My movie got released online three (3) days into the new year,” Toyin Abraham stated. Even when my staff swiftly intervened and made sure it was stopped, I was still concerned that the movie might be removed from circulation by another source. When I dug more, I discovered that these guys also pirate a ton of other YouTube videos, streaming services, and motion pictures. When certain people stick together to hurt us and ruin our investment, how can the creative business expand? Spending is being reduced through streaming because there is no guarantee that they will meet demand and obtain the necessary subscription due to piracy. We are calling on everyone who is sharing content without permission or even encouraging others to download illegally to cease. I would want to express my gratitude to my team, @filmoneng, our distributor, AIG Idowu Owohunwa in Alagbon, CP Atayero, CSP Kayode Emmanuel, SP Idris Sarunmi, and their team members who journeyed across the nation to apprehend the suspected offenders. Your time is done, and the cops will locate you if you are operating a telegraph or have a link to post movies that you do not own.
