“Human empathy is vanishing,” says Emeka Amakeze in response to the drama surrounding the plantains.

Actor Emeka Amakeze of Nollywood responded to a story that went viral about a man who, following the death of her father, asked his wife to fried plantains for him.

Remember the man who told the tale of how, on the day of his grandfather’s passing, his father had urged his mother to fry him plantain?

When her husband got home from work later that day, he inquired as to whether she had heard the news earlier.

Rather than console her, he told her to cook him some plantain.

This infuriated Emeka Amakeze, who sharply criticized his father’s attitude and questioned why he wasn’t providing more emotional support for his wife.

The actor went on to say that humans are becoming less and less empathetic.

“That man no too get sense, I swear,” he wrote. Instead of offering his wife emotional support, what type of man instructs her to go fry some plantain for him? Additionally, some who wouldn’t fried potatoes if they misplaced their phones believe the woman ought to go fry potatoes. Human empathy is, in fact, vanishing.
