The late actor Mr. Ibu’s family announces the date of his funeral while also disclosing his burial plans.
The late actor died on March 2, 2024, . His age was sixty-two.
According to his family, Mr. Ibu will be laid to rest in his hometown at Amuri, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
In cosigning the statement, Mr. Ibu’s brother Elder Sunday Okafor mentioned that the late comedy actor would be buried like a hero.
The sentence said:
“The Okafor family of Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State, would like to pay tribute to our beloved hero, John Ikechukwu Okafor, who has left a legacy of love, laughter, and vibrancy even in death.
“On June 28, 2024, we would be honored to have your distinguished presence as we lay to rest our son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and in-law.
“Please join us as we celebrate our icon’s greatest and final moments.”
The burial ritual will begin on Tuesday, June 25, with a high-profile novelty match, according to the family statement. There will be a Mr. Ibu’s Night session on Wednesday, June 26, complete with live entertainment and a candlelight parade.
On June 27, there will be a Christian wake in his compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, and on June 28, there will be a burial service.
The five-day burial ritual will conclude on Sunday, June 30, with a church Thanksgiving attended by friends,
