A Nigerian immigrant who is currently living in the UK has inspired others by sharing how relocating overseas resulted in a pay raise.
In a post, the man known as Dipo Awojide urged young people to seize small job opportunities so they might obtain experience following their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
Dipo claimed that Wema Bank, where he finished his NYSC, paid him N22,500 and the government N10,000.
He did, however, stay in his own nation to complete the NYSC and gain experience before moving abroad to pursue additional education and employment.
Inspiring others, Dipo shared how obtaining his PhD in the UK raised his income from £15,000 (N18 million) in 2011 to £33,000 (N40 million) in 2015. Regarding X, Dipo said:
“If you don’t currently have a better alternative, please accept a job offer that pays N100K in Lagos or Abuja following your NYSC training. Start somewhere, acquire practical experience, cultivate outstanding employability skills, and build a strong personal brand. Aim higher and apply for better positions after some time. Avoid becoming stuck. Don’t stand still for an eternity. Make sure you are always earning and learning!
