EPL: Amorim reveals why Garnacho and Rashford were left out of the Manchester Derby.

Ruben Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, has explained why Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford were left out of the Manchester City match.

Even though United won 2-1 in the closing minutes, Amorim has explained that Rashford and Garnacho were benched because of performance-based choices rather than disciplinary ones.

Questions were raised prior to United’s spectacular late comeback at the Etihad by the absence of the two, who trained with the team as usual at Carrington.

Amorim stressed the significance of upholding high standards during his remarks at the news conference held after the game.

Amorim said, “It’s vital to stress that it was not a disciplinary item.” “It all comes down to performance—training, competition, team dynamics, and pushing them.”

“We need to set high standards in this situation where individuals are losing their jobs at the club.”

Rashford and Garnacho are still in the running for next games, Amorim emphasized, stating, “Next game, new life, they are battling for their positions.”

“The squad demonstrated today that if we work together, we can win without anyone.”

After Josko Gvardiol’s header for City in the first half, Bruno Fernandes’ penalty in the 88th minute and Amad Diallo’s calm goal in the 90th minute gave United the victory.
