After months of not acknowledging a double wage rise and complaining after receiving the regular rate, an employer calls out a worker he claims is entitled to.
The employer claims that he doubled the employee’s pay at some point in 2023 after the government eliminated the gasoline subsidy, which caused the price of fuel to soar from N200 to N700 per liter.
But after the raise, the employer remained silent until his income was restored to N100K four months later.
The employer said on Facebook, “I had an employee whose monthly compensation was N100,000.” Upon the rise in fuel prices to N630 per liter, I discreetly raised the salaries of all my staff, including this one, who now receives N200,000.
He kept silent for months while receiving this $200,000. I made the decision to return to his previous wage last month to see what he would do. He felt entitled to something that is not his own, so he plucked up the confidence to send me the note below today. His job is currently under jeopardy.
The employer questioned him about the abrupt pay cut in the chat that the boss disclosed, raising the possibility that he would lose his job.
