Burna Boy is Jealous of my Friendship with Davido – Cubana Chief priest

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s “Rubbin’ Minds,” Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, addressed his publicized feud with Afrofusion star Burna Boy. He attributed the discord to Burna Boy’s jealousy over his close relationship with fellow musician Davido.

Cubana Chief Priest revealed that he and Burna Boy were once close friends. However, their relationship became strained following Burna Boy’s signing with Atlantic Records, which led to his rising fame and a subsequent distancing between them. Reflecting on this period, Cubana Chief Priest stated, “We used to be close friends until after Atlantic Records. Until he became more bigger and so the reach was no longer there. I withdrew and I kept doing my thing.”

He emphasized that his bond with Davido has been a source of contention. Cubana Chief Priest highlighted Davido’s consistent support, noting that the artist had inaugurated several of his establishments, including clubs and hotels in Owerri and Asaba. He remarked, “David has been there for me. David opened my club in Owerri. David opened my club in Asaba. David my hotel in Owerri. He opened my house. This December, David was in Asaba for me. We are deep.”

Addressing Burna Boy’s recent criticisms, Cubana Chief Priest expressed his disappointment, stating, “What he posted was too bad. I am a businessman. And people watched me grow year by year. So, you are not going to come and throw jabs at my business or personality.”

Despite the tension, Cubana Chief Priest conveyed his pride in Burna Boy’s achievements and expressed a desire for reconciliation, provided both parties are willing to move forward. He concluded, “I value your success. I am proud of him.”
