AY Makun responds to allegations of insulting female coworkers.

After complaining about his male coworkers’ lack of support, Nollywood comedian and actor AY Makun has responded to reports that he was disparaging female coworkers.

Popular comedian and Filmmaker AY Makun

remembers how the comedian, who just had the premiere of his film “The Waiter,” resorted to social media to lament his male coworkers’ lack of support.

Online replies to AY Makun’s remark, however, fueled rumors that she was disparaging Nollywood actors for their recent historic achievements.

AY Makun, meanwhile, responded to the rumors in a tweet on X (previously Twitter).

The father of two explained that he had no intention of disparaging Nollywood women who are succeeding in the business, adding that he fully supports and encourages them.

He bemoaned the lack of support from male coworkers, saying that they forsake paid movie sets to advocate for others.

His tweet reads,

And i repeat, “WEY TIN MAN DO MAN?” Begging your fellow male actors to join you in promoting your film shouldn’t be a big deal. Especially when i have always been doing the same for everyone. Do you know how frustrating it is to pay actors who end up promoting other films and abandoning the one that they are in… EVEN with signed contracts.

“My last tweet has nothing to do with the hardworking women who are winning in the industry as they all have directed my support and encouragement to date. MEN SHOULD ALSO SUPPORT MEN”.
