It has been questioned by Ruben Amorim if Mikel Arteta would have been given the same amount of time to flourish at Old Trafford.
If Arteta had been in charge of Manchester United, the manager asserts, he would not have had the chance to make the kind of turnaround he made at Arsenal.
Arteta, who this month marks his fifth anniversary as Arsenal’s manager, overcame early setbacks to turn the Gunners into a contender for the Premier League crown, yet the 2020 FA Cup is still his lone trophy.
Amorim commented on the glaring disparity in expectations between Arsenal and United, stating:
Manchester United is quite unique. It is more difficult to have that kind of time here because of all the attention and criticism.
Arteta had difficult times, such as when Tottenham came within a hair of qualifying for the 2022 Champions League.
However, Amorim praised his ability to remain calm under pressure. He went on to say:
“He has been doing fantastic work at Arsenal. He brought in young players who are now highly skilled and changed the team.
