In the midst of claims that he embezzled ₦180 million donated by the public to fund his non-profit, an old video of well-known internet personality VeryDarkMan has reappeared online.
On the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, the video has been trending.
VeryDarkMan recently reported that hackers had stolen ₦180 million of the ₦200 million from the NGO’s website.
However, prominent people have rejected his assertions, and his declaration has been viewed with skepticism.
Since then, singer Portable and internet celebrity Oba Solomon have accused him of stealing and defrauding him, respectively.
An old video of VeryDarkMan defending his integrity has surfaced amid the debate. He fervently declares in the video that he is a man of principles rather than a thief.
He said…
in part: “In this country, I’ll show you all who I am. I’m a man of integrity; my mother didn’t raise a thief. My mother didn’t raise me to take advantage of people. I am not like that.”
VeryDarkMan stressed that he is not influenced by money and that he has come to a point in life when his morals cannot be compromised.
