Well-known Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo is in mourning his late colleague Junior Pope as well as the other members of the crew who perished in a boat disaster.
On his Instagram feed, the actor pondered the meaning of life in light of the possibility that someone could be alive one minute and dead the next.
When he was celebrating his brother’s birthday a few days ago, he voiced his shock at the tragic boat accident.
He spoke about the challenges he has faced since the disaster, stating that he hasn’t been able to attend any events or go about his everyday business because he can only imagine the immense pain and confusion the families of all the dead are going through.
Alexx prayed for the deceased people’s souls as well as for divine bravery to support the mourning relatives in coping with this precious loss.

“What is the meaning of life?” he asked. We are here for a minute, and then we are not. The horrific boat catastrophe that occurred a few days ago still shocks me to my core. Some were battling for their lives, while I was enjoying my birthday. Since then, I haven’t been able to appropriately participate in any events or functions because I can’t begin to picture the terrible suffering and confusion the families of all those who lost their lives must be going through. The number of senseless and preventable fatalities that occur in our nation on a daily basis is unbelievable.
The merry-go-round in the middle of a serious emergency, as well as the blatant exhibition of ignorance, indifference, and advanced illiteracy, are even more upsetting and depressing. In our time of helplessness, may we be surrounded by wise and compassionate individuals, not by those who would rather make a story out of our predicament. Dear God, pardon their sins and grant them eternal passage to heaven. Specifically, please take the souls of Joseph Anointing, Jr. Pope, Abigail Frederick, Precious Oforum, and any other. Oh Lord, please provide their families the divine fortitude to cope with this priceless loss. They need you now more than they have ever needed you. God grant comfort to all those who have survived this accident, impacted by it either directly or indirectly, and are coping with the trauma. Let this serve as a reminder to all of us that life is erratic and only a passing mirage.
