A pregnant woman dies after a week of labor because her husband refuses to take her to the hospital, causing tragedy.
A netizen named Jane Àríké Francis published the incident on Facebook, revealing that the deceased was his neighbor.
He claimed that the woman had been in labor for a long time and that her husband had refused to take her to the hospital because she had been giving birth to all of her other children at home.
She was then brought to the hospital and operated on, but the baby had tragically died by then.
The woman died a week later, it was said.
“I just lost a neighbor this afternoon, and because it was such an unnecessary tragedy, I feel terribly devastated by it.
For a week, this woman had been in labor. She gave birth to her first and second children at home, but the midwife advised that she needed surgery for this one because she was unable to give birth on her own. “This isn’t her first time giving birth on her own,” her husband countered, refusing. He left her at home, then.
When the agony became unbearable, they eventually took her to the hospital on Wednesday for a successful C-section; sadly, the child had already passed away. She also died today,” the tweet said.
