According to an X user who goes by Sarki, the South West betrayed the country’s northern region.
“The years of partnership between both regions have been shattered,” he said in a tweet on Monday.
He cited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s selfishness as the reason why the two areas’ positive relationship had ended.
According to Sarki, the inhabitants of the Southwestern area receive 80% of Nigeria’s income.
However, this parallel has been disputed by netizens:

What transpired was a result of their self-centeredness and lack of concern for their people.
For eight years, we had a northern president with the authority to make things better for the north, yet he failed us!
We got our chance, so let’s stop accusing the president of putting his region before ours.
