There are rumors circulating on social media that Asake, a well-known Afrobeats singer, is leaving YBNL and splitting from Olamide, the head of his record company.
This claim follows Asake’s actions of deleting all of his Instagram postings, unfollowing Olamide, and erasing YBNL from his bio.
Cutie Juls, a well-known entertainment gossip writer, claims that Asake’s contract with YBNL has ended and that Olamide offered him a new deal to sign, which he turned down.
According to the blogger, Olamide tried desperately to get Asake to sign the contract, but to no effect.
Cutie Juls claims that Asake recently abandoned the talks in favor of independence.
The post says….
“Asake leaves YBNL and dumps OLAMIDE. Insiders says Asake’s contract with Olamide’s YBNL expired and when OLAMIDE presents Asake with a new contract, Asake refused to sign”.
“OLAMIDE apparently tried everything in his books to renew his record label with Asake but Asake refused”.
“The final straw happened two [2] weeks ago when Asake walked out completely out of the deal opting to be his own boss”.
“hoping they will be able to resolve and get Asake to stay”.
“As it is now, OLAMIDE is looking for new artist“?Hmmm 👩🦯”.
It’s important to remember that Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and shot to fame with his smash song “Sungba.” He went on to accomplish a number of ground-breaking firsts, such as selling out the O2 Arena twice.
