According to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Swedish rapper Gaboro was shot and died on Thursday, December 19, in a Norrkoping parking lot.
Social media users are outraged after a violent video purportedly showing the murder went viral.
The 19-second first-person video shows a man brandishing a gun as he approaches another person close to a white SUV. After the attacker fires several rounds, the victim collapses and cries, “I beg you,” in Swedish. The victim is rendered immobile by the gunman’s further rounds.
The validity of the video and its link to Gaboro’s alleged murder have not been verified by authorities. The shooting was reported to the police at 8:27 p.m. When they arrived, they found a twentysomething male who had been shot several times. After being taken to the hospital, he passed away from his wounds.
The victim has not been formally identified by the authorities, although they claimed to know the person. “It is a man in his 20s, we know who he is and we have a good knowledge of him from before,” said Mats Pettersson, a police spokeswoman for the East district.
According to reports, Gaboro, a rising star in Sweden’s music industry, had connections to criminal organizations. The list of Swedish artists targeted by the nation’s rising gang violence is growing as a result of this tragic tragedy.
The murder has heightened worries about the rise in violent crime in Sweden associated with gang wars, and police are still investigating it.
