After it was discovered that she was selling infants—females for ₦500,000 and boys for ₦1 million—a Nigerian woman found herself in the headlines.
The woman, sitting on the ground with a baby in her grasp, was heard pleading with people who stopped near her in the recently viral video. It is thought that someone saw her engaging in the behavior.
The men in the video continued to film her while she pleaded, “Oga, don’t tape me,” and inquired about her business practices and the price at which she sells the children.
When questioned about the price she charges for males and females, she admitted that she sells males for less than ₦1 million naira and females for more ₦500 thousand naira.
However, as of the time this story was written, there was no proof that the aforementioned woman had been detained or arrested by Nigerian police.
