A Nigerian woman prepares a fictitious marriage and leaves the country using friends’ Asoebi money.

According to reports, a Nigerian woman tricked her friends by pretending to be married and using the money they gave to buy her wedding Asoebi to get to Canada.

Since then, the incident—which was reported by Twitter user @AkiMarlin—has attracted a lot of attention on the platform.

The tweet claimed that the woman had lied to her pals about being engaged to be married. For 50,000 and 10,000 Naira, respectively, she sold them Asoebi and a hand fan meant for the wedding.

But her pals found out later that the whole ceremony was a fabrication. She was noticeably absent from the place she had chosen for the bridal shower, so she took a plane to Canada.

“There was a significant wedding heist 🙆🏼‍♂️. This is very unbelievable 😭😭. At 50k apiece, this woman sold Asoebi to roughly 60 of her pals and gave each admirer 10,000.

She provided a hotel as the bridal site. She wasn’t there when several of her pals showed up. In any case, there was no wedding; instead, she took a plane to Canada the following day. She is a well-liked vendor at IMSU,” he wrote.
