A Nigerian guy is currently gaining attention on social media after applying for a sports betting visa with money he and his spouse had saved.
According to a tweet made by @KingEsene on X (formerly Twitter), a man and his spouse were allegedly planning a foreign trip.
Thus, in order to save money for their processing, they formed a joint account.
During this time, the husband went behind her to take out a sizable portion of the money without getting her permission. He then used the money to gamble on sports and lost everything.
He said, “The husband and wife have been saving in a joint account that is managed by both of them, but withdrawals can be made by either of them. They had plans to travel to Japan.” A few days ago, the wife learned that the husband had taken out practically all of the money and used it for sports betting. She is now making divorce threats.
The social media users claim that the wife is now threatening divorce after learning about the act.
Many people have flocked to the post’s comment section to express their opinions in response to the wife’s action against her husband.
View a few responses below:
@femidaviesawe “That is incredibly harsh of the man. Divorce is the right decision because a man who can take out so much money for sports betting is not worth saving.”
@seun_aiye: “A man who would jeopardize a family’s long-term plans is a very dangerous man.” Her reasons for seeking a divorce are quite legitimate, even if it should never be the first and only course of action.
@Victor_Terhemba: “She seems to be less serious than her spouse as well. She sent the man the divorce papers via GIG Courier after leaving the house first.
“One husband uses his wife’s money to play sports bet, but he still chops gbese untop. The boys take his car key, the matter gets to the police station, and then the mother-in-law comes to bail the car. Yam pepper scatter scatter,” tweeted @nuru_barca.
@_keluba: “If e boom is not quite right, then they should split the money and she can get a divorce if she wants to.” For the time being, though, let her continue to threaten.
@lakunle70: “Divorce alone? A person who is supposed to carry on and go to the slaughterhouse! God, Abeg!
@obehieguakhide: “I back the spouse. They shouldn’t be together if he couldn’t confide in her about his intentions.
