After expressing his surprise at the expense of having a night out in Nigeria, a Nigerian guy living outside, known online as IJGB (I Just Got Back), has generated discussions.
The man, who goes by @kennyninobrown on X, described his experience after dining at a posh seafood restaurant before heading back home for the Christmas celebrations.
The first picture that @kennyninobrown posted showed his bank balance at over a million naira, while the second picture showed that after the night out, it had dropped to just 250,000 naira.
He sarcastically captioned the pictures, saying, “Just one night out in Nigeria 🇳🇬🙄🙄.” I don’t do that again.
Many Nigerians commented on the country’s upscale lifestyle and growing cost of living after the post swiftly went viral. Some expressed sympathy for him by making jokes about how IJGBs frequently undervalue the cost of festive occasions in Nigeria, while others brought up the fact that these eateries are notorious for their high costs.
In response, social media user @iamscrummy_ said, “Spend that money! There’s nothing in this life! You only get one chance at life!
“You never see anything,” said another user, @efe_edwards. “Shebi you wan ball ni! Spending money is the only way to enjoy Naija delicious.
