“Why Nigerian men view adultery as a sign of success” — Joro Olumofin

Relationship expert Joro Olumofin has provided explanations for why adultery is seen by Nigerian men as a sign of success and as a way to increase their self-esteem.

Olumofin claims that having multiple girlfriends during high school portrays a boy as a “bad guy.” In college, this tendency persists, with a man who has four girlfriends maybe being commended for being the “correct guy.”

According to Joro Olumofin, some colleges even award awards for the “women man of the year” to recognize and celebrate these individuals.

According to Olumofin, even after you get married, friends may still refer to you as a “stallion” if you have multiple side girlfriends.

He connects this line of reasoning to deeply ingrained mental patterns that are formed in childhood and influence a man’s choices regarding commitment.

According to him, cheating gives Nigerian men confidence, stamina, and a boost to their ego. If a boy in secondary school has three girlfriends, his pals will think he’s a “bed guy” and applaud him. In college, a guy who has four girlfriends is considered a “correct Guy” by his peers, and some even honor him with the title of “Ladies Man of the Year.” If he is married and has three side cheeks, his pals would refer to him as “Idan, Stallion Rambo.

All during his early years, this behavior was ingrained in his mind. It gets challenging to commit to just one woman. In Nigeria, men who are faithful to just one lady are known as mumu.
