Ugwu Amoke, a Nigerian man, sparks controversy by asserting that polygamy is a man’s biological prerogative.
According to the Facebook user, a man does not need his wife’s consent to marry another woman, and polygamy is a priority for men.
If his wife is polite, Amoke said, it’s enough for him to tell her; if not, he should just follow through with his decision.
His comments, however, have drawn condemnation from the internet, with many people expressing dissatisfaction of his viewpoint on the subject of polygamy.
“A man has the right to polygamy.” Just like a CEO adds an employee to his first team, he only needs to tell his wife if she is courteous and never has to ask for her approval,” he wrote. “Men must be appropriately instructed.”
