The assertion made on social media by Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, better known by his stage name Burna Boy, that there are just two major musicians and him instead of the “big three” created a commotion.
The musician was heard singing one of his new songs at a concert, when he abruptly stopped to speak to his audience.
“Tell them there’s only the ‘big 2’ and then there’s Burna Boy,” he was heard saying the next time someone brought up the ‘big 3’.
Although it’s unclear to whom the singer was referring when he said “the big two,” many have speculated that he meant Wizkid and Davido, and that since Burna Boy isn’t in the same league as them or in their category, there are only the big two and Burna Boy.
However, his message has gained attention on social media, with many people sharing their thoughts on the post’s comment page.

@Big7Record: “Facts, man—it’s Davido vs. Wizkid.” Burna plays a whole separate level.
“Olamide is 003, Wizkid is 002, and Davido is 001,” said @realtimmywrld. Keep your 004 and relax; you are not even one of the big three.
@_Tri_stan: “It seems like… This is what I keep saying. Everyone battling for the top championship in Nigeria can win it. We roll on a different wave, global, and not on that level.
@AbiolaAbdul: “Competition has dominated his entire life.” Even if he has made a global impact, he still feels uneasy or defeated. I feel bad for him.
@Tinarerelaw1234: “He’s in his own league, as people have seen when he’s told them before, but I’m glad he shared this message 😌🤣🔥❤️❤️❤️.” That’s my closest pal.
@diamonddemola: “He’s third force, not even big two! We still adore Wizzy and David more than he does, so let him keep disparaging his people in order to gain affirmation. It’s not just about effect and how others see you; it’s also about great music.
“Nothing like Big 3 or Big 2,” said @AfrobeatDon2. As the undisputed king of afrobeats, Kizz Daniel is the only Big 1. Everyone knows Kizz Daniel for his music and his music alone, whereas the rest thrive off of publicity stunts and hoopla.
