Popular businessman, Nicholas Ukachukwu has caused a stir as he requests for heavy security of military and policemen during the festivities.
This comes following a gun attack on the convoy of Anambra politician, Chief Chris Uba at Uga junction, in Chief Uba’s hometown. The incident took the life of two policemen.
Ukachukwu, who recently married Miss Universe Nigeria Mitchel Ihezue, wrote separate letters to the heads of the state’s security agencies stating that he would need the security staff because of the insecurity in the area.
In one of the letters, Ukachukwu addressed the Commander of the 302 Artillery Regiment in Onitsha, stating:
With consideration for the security challenges in my hometown of Osumenyi, in the Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, I humbly write to request that 16 Army security personnel provide me with security during my program/activities in Anambra State and beyond. My program is scheduled to begin on January 6th and run through January 10th, 2024.
“The following are the activities: I will arrive on January 6 and examine my personal road project in Osumenyi; on January 7, our local church, which my family funded and restored, will be dedicated; and on January 8, I will execute the customary legal ceremonies for my marriage to my bride at Akaokwa.
“We’re going to dedicate another church that we built on the ninth.” I have other things to do in the East on the tenth.
“I sincerely hope that my request will be approved and given favorable consideration.”
